Project Based Learning

Project Based Learning (PBL) is a core strategy of the Multiple Pathways to Graduation (MPG) Theory of Action. Through PBL, teachers create the personalized, relevant learning experiences our students need to increase their engagement and persistence in school. Cross-disciplinary projects can accelerate students' progress toward graduation by offering credit in multiple subject areas. PBL also often involves community partners, expanding students' positive connections outside of school. Projects bring learning to life, and life to learning.

Are you interested in learning more about the what, why, and how of PBL? Check out MPG's PBL Toolkit for guidance, tools, and resources, and explore the Project Library for descriptions and artifacts from the numerous projects designed by MPG educators in recent years.
